Adding Passport Pages

If you need additional pages in your passport, please use our mail-in procedures. We strongly encourage you to use this highly efficient method. We use Taiwan registered mail to return the passport to you and it is extremely secure and reliable.

The fee is US$82. Under CFR 51.6, visa pages will not be added to "any passport which has been materially changed in physical appearance or composition, or which includes unauthorized changes, obliterations, entries or photographs".  This determination is made by the consular officer.

Applications for pages in minors' passports may be signed and submitted by one parent.

To Add Pages by Mail:

1. Complete and sign application form (DS-4085) with Taiwan contact telephone and address
2. Enclose your valid U.S. passport
3. Include a self-addressed, stamped (NT $50 postage) envelope for AIT to return your passport to you
4. Mail the above items with your current passport, a US$82 local bank draft (Cashier’s Check) (本地銀行的美金匯票) payable to "American Institute in Taiwan" with no other amendments or notations (such as "Not Negotiable")
5. Mail it to the Consular Services office, AIT Kaohsiung
    No.2, Chung Cheng 3rd Road, Kaohsiung 800
6. AIT will use your envelope to return the passport to you via registered mail in approximately 2-3 weeks.

To Add Pages in Person:

If you must apply in person you must make an appointment in Kaohsiung. Click here to make an appointment in Kaohsiung. 

The following items are required:

1. A valid U.S. passport
2. A completed and signed application form (DS-4085) with Taiwan contact telephone and address
3. A stamped (NT$50 postage) self-addressed envelope

Your passport will be sent to you via registered mail through the Taiwan post office. If you don't have a self-addressed envelope with NT$ 50 postage, we use a courier service which will return the passport to the address you indicate to them. The courier service will call you before delivering, will require your signature, and will collect a delivery fee of NT$ 170 in cash.

In case of an emergency, if there are no appointments available at the AIT Kaohsiung Branch Office before your scheduled departure, you may call AIT Kaohsiung Branch Office at (07)238-7744 to add pages for an emergency.  We will attempt to assist you as expeditiously as possible.  However, applicants with appointments have priority.
