U.S. Passports General Information
Please carefully read all of the instructions below, as our requirements differ from instructions on the application forms. The Consular Services Office approves passport applications and forwards them to the National Passport Center in South Carolina for processing. Normal processing time is approximately 2-3 weeks. Many countries in the region do not allow you to enter unless your passport is valid for more than six months. However, your passport can be used to return to the US for up to six months after it expires. All forms must be completed in English. When supporting documents (such as proof of marriage, divorce, death, birth) are required, they must be in English or accompanied by a certified translation.
